OLD TOWN & CITY WALLS TOUR

Spice up your typical Dubrovnik city tour and learn about the history and legends of Dubrovnik enjoying it from the famous city walls. Coming to Dubrovnik without walking on city walls is like coming to Rome without seeing the Pope. City walls are 1.9km long and were built between 13th and 17th century. Towers, fortresses and bastions along the way are marks of glorious past and main attraction of the city known as filming site of Game of Thrones, Star Wars, Robin Hood and many more.

DID YOU KNOW?

Weather in summer days can be very hot so hats, sunglasses, water and sunblock are essentials on this tour.

IS THIS TOUR FOR ME?

You’ll be observing the Old Town Dubrovnik from approximately 25m height, so you’ll see all key landmarks from above: Rector’s Palace, Saint Blase’s church, Onofrio’s fountain and many other significant sites of the Old Town.

LOCATION

Old Town Dubrovnik
I will meet you with a map and you can decide where to go: towards fortress Bokar used as House of Undying in Game of Thrones to enjoy the view of Adriatic Sea or towards fortress Minčeta overlooking red roofs of Dubrovnik. Maybe you would first like to visit Saint Lawrence fort used as Red Keep in GOT? Either way you’ll hear about history of Republic of Dubrovnik from its earliest days to present.

Since Dubrovnik Walls probably have the biggest number of stairs on planet there will be plenty of stops along the way for photos and refreshment.

Once you decide to get off from the city walls you can still stroll through some smaller streets and get your picture of Dubrovnik from both perspectives.

Natasha took a lot of pains at every point of the way to explain the significance of the sights, the buildings and the statues we came across. Listening to her explaining it all was a truly enriching experience.
